Miles (Bob) Gilbert confesses:

I suppose that the statute of limitations has expired by now so I would like to relate an event at LHS. I was in the boy's restroom for legitimate purposes when several other boys were in there smoking cigarettes. Mr. Stuart came in and rounded us ALL up. I hated being falsely accused (still hate the smell of cigarette smoke). Having learned in chemistry class that a few spoonsful of sulphuric acid poured into a jar of sugar would indeed smoke up the boy's restroom, I did so. Oh yes it smoked! Set off the fire alarms and we got out of class for awhile. Does anyone recall that event?

Here I am facing my 69th birthday next month and still blessed to be gainfully employed as an archaeologist for the USDA-Natural Resources Conservation Service in AZ, SE Utah and western NM. My theme songs are the Beach Boys "I Get Around" and Willie Nelson's "On the Road Again". I'll be surveying on the Hualapai Reservation next week. Anyone care to come out and help as an Earth Team Volunteer? My ETVs helped me survey 17,371 acres this past fiscal year, contributing 754 hours. If I learned anything at LHS it is the value of cooperation.

Alas, my schedule will not allow me to attend the reunion. My very best regards to you all,

Miles
